About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish

The cylindrical shade of this wall light is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The pores and organic variations visible in each piece are authentic — this is exactly as it was designed to be.

Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.

How does the right-angle arm work?

A clean horizontal arm extends from the wall mount, then a slim vertical drop stem descends from the arm’s end — positioning the stone shade outward and downward from the wall. This creates the visual illusion of a hanging pendant while remaining fixed to the wall.
